Glimmer

Vile humans botched a home "surgery" by stapling sweet Glimmer’s wounds close, then dumped her. That’s where this story begins. How anyone in their right mind could do this to an animal is beyond our comprehension. This sweet girl was overcome with the pain of her infected wounds when she was picked up off the streets and taken to the shelter. That is where we saw her picture and knew she needed immediate rescuing. 

After we rushed her to our vet, we were told that, based on her injuries, they believed she was likely attacked by a dog. Then, those wounds were left uncared for, leading to them eventually becoming horrifically infected. However, the discovery of the staples in her wounds hints that someone out there tried to close them on their own accord, but it only made her condition worse. 

While at the vet, we cleaned and wrapped her wounds so they could finally begin healing properly, then settled in for an arduous journey ahead. But it wasn’t long before Glimmer started to show a glimmer of hope. Not even a couple of nights later, despite her challenges and evident discomfort, our resilient Glimmer greeted us at the clinic with a wagging tail, showcasing her unwavering spirit. 

That’s when we transferred her to the care of one of our most experienced medical fosters, who diligently ensured she attended her Hydrotherapy sessions and kept her wounds meticulously cleaned and wrapped to maintain sterility and prevent infections. At night, she slept peacefully.  Not even a month later,  her wounds steadily closed. 

Despite enduring severe trauma inflicted by humans, Glimmer's spirit remained unbroken, and she continued to exude love and sweetness. 

We are so happy to announce that Glimmer’s glimmer of hope shone through once and for all through this long journey. After a lengthy recovery process, five days after her wounds were nearly fully healed, Glimmer was adopted into the perfect family! She has finally found her forever home where she will be loved and cared for. We want to express our deepest gratitude for your kindness and generosity in helping us heal her and reach this incredible milestone. Glimmer's journey is a testament to the power of compassion and community, and we are so grateful to have had you and our CUDDLY family by our side every step of the way.
