Hopper

Almost 9 months ago, an 8-year-old dog named Hopper was found in excruciating conditions. Hopper was completely bald and plagued by both demodex and sarcoptic mange, something we had never encountered before. Even the gentlest touch caused his skin to crack and bleed, causing him agonizing pain. In addition to his skin condition, he was covered in scratches and bruises, hinting at a lifetime of abuse. Hopper's case, to put it simply, was one of the worst we had ever encountered.

Thankfully, Hopper was rescued and swiftly taken to our rescue for treatment. The mere sight of him caused us to clutch our hearts, his physical state just absolutely devasting to witness. He was STARVING, with his bones prominently outlined beneath his inflamed skin. Despite his unbearable condition, his spirit shone through—he remained remarkably sweet and gentle. We were determined to save him from his ongoing agony, so we published a CUDDLY campaign hoping for some outside support, and set out on the treacherous journey ahead.

We immediately began treating Hopper, cleaning his wounds daily and administering a special treatment regimen to tackle his mange. He was also provided a delicious and nourishing diet to help him gain some much-needed weight. Day after day, Hopper carefully began to heal, the light in his eyes subtly returning. Deep down inside, his beautiful soul resided, and at long last, his true self was finally emerging from the layers of pain. He slowly began to transform, with his hair growing back and much-needed weight softening his bony, nimble body.

As weeks turned into months, Hopper's condition improved drastically. His once cracked and scabbed skin fully healed, revealing a luscious, shiny coat that had been hidden for so long. His eyes, once filled with sorrow, now sparkled with hope and trust. We just couldn’t believe our eyes as we watched his miraculous transformation. It was as though he became an entirely different dog within just a few months! Around this time, gracious CUDDLY donations began pouring in, aiding both us and Hopper along his journey. 

Today, we are thrilled to announce that Hopper has made a full recovery! He is officially deemed healthy, both physically and temperamentally. He is a laid-back, sweet, and amazing dog, ready for his forever home. A home that will not treat him so cruelly, and instead, will love and care for him unconditionally. We are beyond proud of this sweet boy for the incredible progress he’s made throughout these tiring months. But none of this could have been possible without YOU.
