Stuart Little

In the hushed stillness of Vetco, Tiny Stuart Little lay curled up and listless, his frail 2-pound body shivering in agony. It was mid-May 2023, and the sight was nearly unbearable. His damaged leg compelled him to scream out for help, and when we heard those piercing cries, we knew we had to act swiftly to save him.

We rushed him to Bay Street Animal Hospital (BASH), where a skilled team of doctors was ready to perform the miracle Stuart Little so desperately needed. The emotions of fear and urgency were overwhelming as we handed him over for emergency surgery. By night's end, our tiny four-legged warrior had become a resilient three-legged fighter. The relief was palpable as the successful surgery transformed his agony into healing.

The following morning, May 13th, Stuart Little stirred for the first time post-surgery, his tiny body slowly awakening to a world free from relentless pain. By May 16th, his pained cries had turned into joyful squeals. Each day marked a significant step in his healing process. The incision, once raw and dotted with staples, was now healing beautifully. The brilliant doctors at BASH had freed him from his agony and given him a second chance at life.

With each passing day at the start of his recovery, Stuart Little demonstrated strength far beyond his size. Now, this sweet boy is under the loving care of our director. Stuart is happily settling into his new life. He's in training to become a therapy dog and regularly visits special needs groups in the community. His transformation into a joyful, loving companion is nothing short of miraculous.
