Ajla

Ajla was found in the most heart-wrenching state imaginable; her snout had been tied shut with a rope, so tight that it prevented her from eating, drinking, or even breathing properly. The physical damage was catastrophic – her nose had swollen like a balloon, and her skin had started to die and fall off due to a complete lack of blood flow. It was a gut-wrenching sight that shook us all to our core. 

Discovered just in time, we rushed Ajla to the veterinary ER. The doctors were so shocked they could hardly find the words to say, but they quickly sprang into action, desperate to save her precious little life. Despite her grave condition, Ajla showed incredible trust and resilience. We couldn't imagine the sheer pain she was in and yet, she held on, proving to be an incredible fighter. She was battling a severe infection, and her breathing was compromised due to Leishmaniasis. 

This poor girl has suffered so much at the hands of such vile humans, more so than any living creature ever should. Whoever did this to her was pure evil, a sinister monster, but that didn’t matter then. What truly mattered, at that moment, was saving Ajla’s life. There was truly no time to waste. 

Immediate rounds of antibiotics were administered to stave off further dead tissue. However, the wound was so aggressive that surgery became unavoidable. The team had to carefully manage the gangrenous tissue to prevent the spread of the life-threatening infection and try to salvage as much of her snout as possible. 

Ajla's road to recovery was intensive. She underwent multiple treatments and surgeries, each step aimed at alleviating her pain and restoring her health. Thanks to the incredible support we received through CUDDLY, donations began pouring in, which helped us pay her extensive vet bills. We were also able to provide Ajla with soothing and healing toys to aid her recovery. Slowly but surely, her energy levels increased, and she began eating and drinking well. Things were starting to turn around for the better.

The journey wasn’t easy, but Ajla’s spirit never wavered. After weeks of intensive care and round-the-clock monitoring, Ajla's condition improved remarkably. So much so that our jaws were practically on the floor, amazed at her quick progress. Before long, she could breathe easier, and her wounds started to heal. Her transformation was nothing short of miraculous.

And now, the moment we’ve all been waiting for: Ajla found her forever home in Poland!! Just days ago, she embarked on her 'freedom ride' to start a new life with a loving family committed to completing her remaining treatments. Ajla's transformation from a victim of unimaginable cruelty to a symbol of resilience and hope is truly inspiring.
