Bianca & Halo

Bianca and Halo had lived through such unimaginable torment that the mere thought still brings us to tears. After we received sufficient funding, thanks to our gracious CUDDLY community, they have officially been transported to the U.S.A. where they are now safe and living out their dream lives. Read on to learn more about their heartwarming story of triumph!

Bianca and Halo are two Golden Retrievers who have endured some of the worst forms of human cruelty. Bianca had been viciously stabbed by drug dealers in Egypt and therefore needed immediate and extensive medical care involving weeks of hospitalization. Her emotional wounds ran even deeper, making her healing process incredibly arduous. Then there's Halo, who was found chained in a yard without food or water, constantly beaten by her owner. She was physically broken, plagued by fleas and ticks, and emotionally shattered. 

The pups had to go through months of meticulous care from our partnered rescue, Spirit Foundation For Animal Rescue, and our founder, Helen, to heal from their harrowing ordeals. By the time they were physically recovered, it became clear that a new chapter awaited them—a journey to the United States where they could truly begin again. Partnering with Golden Retriever Rescue Resource in Ohio, we arranged for their transport, ensuring every detail was meticulously planned so that they could arrive safely. Their lives were ultimately at stake, and they had to get out of Egypt immediately. 

However, this would come as a monumental and costly task for our rescue. Therefore, we turned to the support of our community by creating a CUDDLY campaign, holding onto the hope that these precious souls would receive the funding necessary to begin their new lives. We were determined to do everything possible to save Bianca and Halo, yet we knew that we couldn’t do it alone. But we were running out of time!

Fortunately, the donations began flooding in with just HOURS to spare! Generous donors were touched by our urgent mission and helped fund these pups' flight from Egypt to the U.S.A. We are beyond grateful for this incredible support! On the flight, Bianca and Halo were accompanied by a dedicated volunteer from Spirit Foundation, who had also played a crucial role in their initial rescue. Following their arrival in New York on February 18th, 2024, Bianca and Halo were driven to Ohio, where loving homes awaited them.

Halo immediately bonded with her new family, who had a long history of caring for Golden Retrievers. Known for her playful nature, she quickly became attached to her doggy bed and socks, and even attempted to befriend the family cat. Her days of torment became a distant memory as she settled into her new, loving environment.

Bianca, who once had to fight for her life, now thrives in her new home. She enjoys playtime with her new fur siblings and is particularly fond of her tennis ball. Her transformation has brought immense joy to her new family and helped mend the painful memories of her past. 

From a life of relentless abuse to a future filled with love and safety, Bianca and Halo’s journey is truly remarkable. The partnership between Spirit Foundation For Animal Rescue and Golden Retriever Rescue Resource has been instrumental in offering these dogs a second chance. And of course, none of this could have been possible without the incredible support we received from our CUDDLY community!
