Polo’s story began with many challenges, but it has since blossomed into a tale of joy and triumph! Born with congenital defects that made his early days difficult, Polo couldn’t enjoy the simple pleasures of being a dog. But thanks to dedicated care and the love of rescuers, he’s now a happy, healthy pup living his best life!

This precious boy's journey started in tough circumstances. His previous owners, overwhelmed by his medical needs, surrendered him to CAMO Rescue, hoping he could get the help he desperately needed. Polo was born with a congenital condition known as 'screw tail,' which caused his tail vertebrae to twist into a painful spiral. This not only made it difficult for him to defecate, but it also led to agonizing infections. For five grueling months, Polo endured immense discomfort, unable to even have a bowel movement on his own!

When Polo arrived at our rescue, his luck began to change. He was immediately taken to the vet, where he underwent surgery to correct his tail. This surgery was the first big step toward relieving Polo’s pain. Finally, he could experience the simple relief of a normal bowel movement. But Polo’s journey wasn’t over yet—he also had a penile deformity that needed attention. Because of irresponsible breeding, this sweet boy had seemingly everything wrong with him!

Despite the challenges, Polo faced his surgeries with remarkable resilience. At six months old, he underwent a second surgery to repair his penis, allowing him to urinate without any pain. The procedure was a wonderful success, and Polo only continued to recover from here! With each passing day, he grew stronger, his playful puppy spirit shining through more and more. We were just SO proud of this sweet boy and his remarkable progress!

As Polo healed, his personality blossomed. His unique merle coat and goofy, sweet nature made him a favorite among the rescuers. It wasn’t long before Polo’s journey came full circle—with his health fully restored he was ready for adoption. In a beautiful turn of events, he found an incredible, forever home where he’s now living a life full of joy, play, and endless love!

Polo’s transformation from a suffering puppy to a vibrant, healthy dog is a heartwarming reminder of what can be made possible through patience, hope, and compassion.
