Tunechi

Tunechi was once a victim of devasting neglect, subject to a life that was so painful, it was almost unimaginable. He was found tethered on a short chain with no access to food or water, starving and thirsty. Now, he's a cherished member of a loving family! Tunechi's story began with unimaginable hardship. He was one of several dogs found on a rural property, all of them tied up on very short chains with no access to shelter, food, or clean water. It was just a horrible, sickening sight that left us angry and repulsed by the sheer extent of cruelty. Tunechi’s tether, a mere two feet long, left him unable to lie down or drink from the pail of dirty water somewhat near him. The conditions he lived in were just appalling and completely unacceptable.

When the call came about this distressing situation, we didn't once hesitate, hurrying to the scene. We found Tunechi in a dire state and RUSHED him into our care, where the full extent of his suffering became starkly evident. The other pups were also taken into safety, although Tunechi’s state demanded urgent attention. He had heartworm, a serious condition requiring immediate and sustained medical treatment. Additionally, his muscles were severely compromised from his prolonged confinement. It was all just so sad, but we were determined to make it better.

Veterinary professionals began Tunechi's intensive treatment for heartworms and other pressing health issues. Each passing day marked a small victory in his recovery. Slowly but surely, he learned to trust people again and adapt to an environment filled with love and attention. It wasn't an easy journey; his rehabilitation involved numerous medical procedures and constant care.

Despite these mounting challenges, Tunechi's resilient spirit shined bright and helped propel him forward. The light in his eyes grew brighter, glinting with a dazzling joy, as he steadily regained strength. Over time, he learned to lie down properly, relish his meals, and enjoy the comfort of a safe, warm bed. After months of dedicated care, Tunechi was ready for the next chapter of his life. His transformation was just absolutely remarkable; he went from a neglected pup on the brink of death to a joyful dog full of life!

Tunechi's big break came when a sweet family read about his story and felt compelled to meet him. Their visit to the shelter was full of hope and love, and it soon became clear that Tunechi had found his forever home. Today, he thrives in a world far removed from his harrowing past, embraced by a family who adores him. We are just SO happy for him, but none of this could have been possible without outside support from our loving community!
