Bevo was surrendered to a Texas shelter in 2023, already paralyzed. He had a loving human mother, but sadly her health was failing and she had to admit to an assisted living. Our rescue partner cared for him, until his arrival in Wisconsin in February of 2024.
Bevo arrived and it was clear he needed to lose some weight. It was said he wasn't one to move around when not in his wheelchair. Though he did begin to follow his foster parents around the home, his skin integrity became a concern due to friction. His foster had one extra in his size, but anyone familiar with paraplegic dogs knows life flows better when you have several. The rescue was set to order drag bags- when 5 were donated via one of our CUDDLY supporters. Not only did Bevo receive these amazing tools for skin protection, but so many other things from our CUDDLY family! Bevo was suffering from a UTI as well, unbeknownst to us- and when things like cranberry supplements started filtering in, we were so grateful. In combination with antibiotics, this cutie was able to kick those bladder issues to the curb! He lost a good amount of weight, and was bought a new wheelchair sling.
Bevo stole the hearts of a nice couple from Illinois. They mad him their own, and changed his name to Frank. The last photo above is Frank chillin with his brothers!
Thank you CUDDLY fam!
