A local animal welfare advocate adopted this precious, senior boy—we are elated to share that he is in amazing hands. We overcame a lot of hurdles to reach this milestone, and we owe it all to you and your compassionate donations. Thanks to you, Keeper is home, at last.

In the beginning, Keeper was a shell of himself. Skin-and-bone and battling a severe eye infection, he had been neglected for the majority of his life. It’s just heartbreaking that he had to endure that for so long without ever having the voice to speak up. Until now.

When rescued, our team raced to save him. We refused to let this be the end for him. Following crucial testing, he was given medications, antibiotics, and a healthy, calorie-rich diet to support weight gain. Though sadly, his infected eye could not be saved. An entropion surgery was promptly scheduled to remove the eye—it was the only way to free him from pain, and save his life.

Following the procedure, Keeper was feeling much better. Over time, his once-frail body filled out, and his cheerful, happy self was coming out. Despite all that he had been through, all the hardship he had faced, he was such a sweet, gentle boy. We bet he was just so happy to experience relief for likely the first time.

Even so, it was clear that Keeper needed a tranquil environment to spend the rest of his time. His new home is with someone with many years of experience in hospice and medical care, making it the perfect match for him. Keeper's new mom offers a calm, loving home where Keeper can enjoy his days in comfort and peace.

We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who supported Keeper during his time with us. Your kindness and generosity have helped write this happy chapter in Keeper's life. Thank you for being a part of his story. Thank you for being a driving force for good.
