Serafina

On March 4th, 2024, amidst the wreckage of a house fire, we found Serafina—a small, badly burned puppy left behind. Alone in the aftermath, her fragile body was scorched, and her pain was beyond comprehension. Even more heartbreaking was the absence of anyone searching for her. Serafina had been abandoned in the worst possible way, her tiny figure buried in the ashes with no one coming to her rescue—until now.

When we brought her into our care, we immediately saw the fight in her. Despite her horrific injuries, Serafina showed a spirit that moved us all. With burns covering much of her body, her road to recovery was bound to be long and painful. But from the very beginning, Serafina’s will to live was undeniable. Even when each touch must have caused her agony, she sought out comfort, leaning into our hands and hearts with trust that defied the torment she had endured.

In the following days, we began specialized skin treatments to help her heal. By March 8th, just a few days after being rescued, Serafina was already progressing. Her strength, even in the face of such pain, was awe-inspiring. She looked up at us not with fear but with those big, trusting eyes that made us all believe that healing wasn’t just possible—it was certain.

On March 9th, her transformation continued. Despite the excruciating treatments, Serafina didn’t shy away. She remained calm, resilient, and—most incredibly—hopeful. Watching her heal was nothing short of miraculous. Her burned skin began to slough off, giving way to healthier patches, though we knew her journey was far from over.

By March 19th, her progress was nothing short of astonishing. Her burns were healing more quickly than we had ever anticipated. We saw glimpses of the puppy she was meant to be—a playful, curious soul emerging from the ashes of her past.

And then came March 27th, when Serafina’s spirit fully blossomed. The puppy who had arrived in such terrible condition was now a sassy little girl, full of life and joy. It was hard to believe this was the same dog who had once been left to die in the aftermath of a fire. Her ability to heal, both physically and emotionally, was beyond anything we could have hoped for.

By May 14th, it was clear that Serafina had not only survived—she was thriving. At nearly six months old, she had regained her strength, her zest for life, and her playful nature. We knew she was ready for her next chapter—her forever home. And on July 6th, that dream came true.

Serafina found her forever family. The little pup who had once been abandoned in the worst circumstances had found her place in a loving home where she would never have to suffer alone again! We are overjoyed, to say the least. But will miss this little spitfire with all our hearts.

Serafina’s journey is one of hope, resilience, and the power of love. Her transformation from a burned, abandoned puppy to a happy, healthy dog is a testament to the strength of animals and the support of those who believed in her. Because of your generosity, Serafina’s story didn’t end in tragedy. It blossomed into one of triumph and joy.
