Once used as a breeding machine and left to suffer when he became ill, Moon’s story could have ended in tragedy. Instead, it became a tale of hope, resilience, and love. Abandoned on the streets of Houston, Texas, Moon was sick and alone, but today, thanks to your support, he’s a picture of health and happiness.

When we first found Moon, his condition was heartbreaking. He had chronic respiratory issues, a severe mouth infection, dental problems, herpes, and was FIV positive. Despite all these challenges, his spirit shone through, and we knew we had to give this sweet boy the care he had been denied for so long.

On January 8th, 2024, Moon’s life took a beautiful turn when he entered our care. From the very first moment, it was clear that Moon was a gentle soul. Even during his grooming session—despite his matted fur and health struggles—he charmed everyone with his kind and loving nature. We immediately began treating his respiratory issues and eye infections while making sure he was comfortable and surrounded by love.

By January 16th, we started to see the first glimmers of hope. Moon’s medications were helping, and his condition began to improve. His breathing became easier, and while his eye infection still needed attention, we were optimistic. Every day, Moon showed us more of his sweet personality, proving that despite his past, he was full of love and trust.

As the weeks passed, Moon’s recovery became more and more inspiring. By January 20th, his respiratory condition had improved significantly, and though his FIV made healing a bit slower, his progress was steady. His playful, gentle spirit blossomed, and we knew we were witnessing a true transformation.

On January 31st, Moon’s health took another great leap forward. His new eye medication worked wonders, and under the care of his loving foster mom, Moon’s energy and joy returned. His beautiful personality stole the hearts of everyone who met him. Moon was now not only surviving but thriving.

By February 12th, Moon was doing wonderfully. His eyes were on the mend, and he was scheduled for dental work that would give him even more comfort. The best part? His once frail body was growing stronger by the day, and his vibrant spirit continued to shine brighter than ever.

On May 27th, 2024, we celebrated what once was the unthinkable—Moon’s incredible recovery. Thanks to your kindness, Moon had gone from being abandoned and sick to healthy, happy, and loved. He is now in a loving foster home, where he’s cherished and adored, and he’s ready for the forever home he’s always deserved.
