It began with a dream—a dream to change the lives of six dogs who had survived unimaginable cruelty on the streets of Egypt. Lykka, Bogart, Bobby, Otto, Skye, and Howie had endured horrors that no animal should ever experience. These resilient souls were taken in and thoroughly cared for until they fully recovered from their injuries. Now, thanks to you, they are residing happily in their forever homes in the UK. With the help of dedicated rescuers, volunteers, and donors around the world, we embarked on one of our most ambitious missions yet: to get these six dogs to the UK, where their new homes were ready and waiting to welcome them. But this was no small feat. Each dog needed to pass a long list of health and safety requirements—rabies titer tests, internationally approved microchips, bloodwork, veterinary health certifications, flea preventatives, and more. Then, there were the travel crates, flight tickets, and ground transport from Paris to the UK. The cost was overwhelming—nearly $10,000 to get all six of them ready and safely on their way.

The pressure mounted as the days ticked down, but the outpouring of support from people like you made all the difference. Donations began to roll in, and with each contribution, we came closer to our goal. Through tireless coordination and the determination of an entire rescue community, the first flight was scheduled for May 23rd, with Lykka, Bobby, and Skye set to begin their journey. On May 24th, the remaining three—Bogart, Otto, and Howie—were to follow.

The first three dogs successfully made their way from Cairo to Paris, and after a smooth transition, they reached their new homes in the UK. Lykka, Bobby, and Skye were finally free from the cages and the pain they had known for so long. Their new families welcomed them with open arms, and it wasn’t long before they began to settle into their new lives, surrounded by love and comfort.

Unfortunately, the second transport faced an unexpected delay. Just moments before Otto, Bogart, and Howie were to be loaded onto the plane, a technical issue in the cargo hold grounded the flight. Heartbreaking as it was, safety was our top priority, and we had to return them to the boarding facility until a new flight could be arranged. We also had to redo all of their paperwork, which came at a cost. But we didn’t give up. Within days, another flight was secured, and the three remaining dogs were finally on their way.

After a long journey, all six dogs arrived safely in the UK. Bogart, once blinded by a cruel act, found a home with a family who has experience with special needs dogs. Bobby, who had survived horrific abuse in Egypt, now lives with a loving family where he is safe and cherished. Skye, saved from the streets, is now thriving in Derby, England, with a family who absolutely adores her. We can’t stop crying tears of pure joy—these precious lives, who had endured so much cruelty and so much hardship, have now been blessed with second chances.

This mission took a village. From rescuers in Egypt to volunteers and donors across the globe, it was a collective effort that made this miracle happen. Today, Lykka, Bogart, Bobby, Otto, Skye, and Howie are living the lives they deserve, free from fear and filled with love because of these tireless efforts. Because of you.
