Louie

When Louie was found by concerned tourists, he was in critical condition. His belly was swollen and he struggled with every breath. Once rescued, Louie was diagnosed with tick fever. Today, he is fully healed and living life as a joyful puppy, thanks to successful treatment and devoted care!

When a kind couple driving through Vietnam spotted a tiny puppy wandering alone near a coffee shop, it was clear that he was deeply unwell. Little did his finders know that his life hung by a mere thread. Noticing his severely bloated stomach and strained breathing, they immediately called Paws For Compassion for help. Our outreach team sprang into action, rushing to find him before transporting the gravely ill puppy to the vet clinic. 

Upon arrival, veterinarians quickly diagnosed Louie with tick fever, a severe condition that led to fluid accumulation in his abdomen, making each breath a struggle. His fragile youth posed an even larger threat, as he may not have the strength to overcome this grueling illness. Nevertheless, our dedicated team initiated immediate treatment, determined to save his life at whatever cost.

In the following weeks, the medical staff monitored Louie closely as he underwent intensive care and was provided crucial medication. Gradually, the fluid in his belly reduced, alleviating his troubles with breathing and allowing his natural puppy energy to resurface. The lethargic and fragile pup he once was had melted away into a playful bundle of joy who melted hearts with his sweetness.  He has now fully recovered, and we couldn't be happier for him!

His recovery journey, though filled with challenges, was simply incredible to witness fitness. Louie's remarkable story did not end at the clinic. He moved to a loving foster home, where he continued to heal and thrive under their care. The foster family, charmed by his playful nature, is considering adopting him, marking what we hope will be a forever home. We are crossing our fingers that they decide to keep him and officially bring this sweet little puppy into their family!
