Penny & Her Puppies

You might recognize Penny and her ten tiny puppies as the family that was cruelly discarded in a cardboard box. Well, guess what? This sweet mama and at least 9 of her babies have found loving homes! Read below to see how YOUR compassion literally changed lives…

Found abandoned and exposed to the elements, this little bunch was in desperate need of help. The puppies, only six weeks old and dangerously underweight, were riddled with fleas and struggling to survive. Their mother, Penny, was in equally poor shape: malnourished, anemic, and missing large patches of fur from untreated skin conditions.

When we got the call, we didn’t hesitate. Our team jumped into action, scooping up the fragile family and immediately beginning the long road to recovery. Deworming treatments, flea meds, high-calorie supplements, and round-the-clock care worked miracles in just two short weeks. Those once bony, sickly pups began to grow. Their tiny bodies filled out with life and energy, with weight gains pushing them up to 5.6-7.8 pounds, and their spirits slowly began to shine.

Penny's transformation was equally remarkable. With consistent care and medical support, her skin healed, her strength returned, and she blossomed into a loving, gentle dog ready for a new chapter. Today, we are THRILLED to share that Penny has found her forever home, and so have nine of her ten puppies! One sweet boy is still waiting for the perfect match, but we know it won’t be long now. What began with heartbreak and hopelessness has become a near-complete circle of healing and hope.
