Tiny Natalia was initially found in a shelter, crammed into a kennel, and almost entirely covered in severe Demoodex mange. There was no doubt that her future looked miserably bleak. We rescued her in the nick of time and hurried her onto the path of healing—now, to our absolute joy, she is residing happily in her forever home as a happy and healthy pup!

Natalia’s story begins in a cramped shelter. She was just a young puppy, yet all she knew was pain and suffering, ripped away from her mama and surrounded by frantic barks and pitiful whines. Her fragile body was almost entirely hairless, and she itched relentlessly from the constant irritation and pain from the parasitic mites. When we caught sight of her, we knew that there was absolutely no way that we were going to leave her behind. We couldn’t, plain and simple.

The moment she arrived at our rescue, Natalia underwent a rigorous assessment that confirmed the extent of her condition: a severe case of Demodex mange causing relentless skin irritation. The team devised a course of soothing, medicated baths and topical treatments to alleviate her discomfort and address the mite infestation. For the first time in likely all of her life, she was provided some much-needed relief in the cozy comfort of our rescue. 

Days slowly turned into weeks, and with each passing day, Natalia showed steady signs of improvement. The treatments successfully reduced the mange, and her once-patchy skin began to heal and regrow the soft, healthy fur she was always meant to have. Her once fearful eyes twinkled with joy, and her once trembling frame melted into our open arms, relishing our love and affection.

Natalia’s progress was marked by several milestones: the first signs of fur regrowth, her thriving under the care of her foster family, and her eventual readiness for a new chapter. With the veterinarian’s approval, Natalia prepared to travel to Colorado, where she would be transferred to another rescue. There, she would safely reside and continue receiving care until a loving family adopted her and welcomed her home! We knew that day would eventually come, and our patience surely paid off!

The beautiful day was right around the corner—within two months, Natalia, who is now nearly unrecognizable as the puppy she once was, found her forever home! Her transformation has been nothing short of incredible, and now she gets to live the life she always deserved.
