We are elated to share the most wonderful news: Pearl is living her dream life in the States following a beautiful freedom flight from Cairo, Egypt. When our American friend met Pearl, it was like love at first sight. And as we type this, she is there with him, living out her days. But sadly, her story didn’t begin this way.

Pearl's owners abandoned her, casting her outside like her life didn't matter. As she wandered the streets, confused and alone, a group of children heartlessly beat her. The assault left her clinging to life, her eyes swollen beyond repair. It was a miracle that we found her, limping through the streets and crying desperately for help. Devastated and appalled by such cruelty, we scooped up her battered body and carried her to the animal hospital for urgent, lifesaving care.

In addition to her many visible, gruesome injuries, the poor baby’s jaw was broken, and her gums were stark-white due to severe anemia. And the vets shared the heartbreaking truth that we feared was coming: her eyes had to be removed. Pearl underwent critical enucleation surgery and soon after, had another procedure to mend her shattered jaw. She endured all of this like a champ, proving to us that she still had a fight left inside her.

Vets then performed a CT scan to rule out any neurological issues (since the eyes are so close to the brain), as well as blood tests. Thankfully, she was in the clear! Our sweet girl remained hospitalized for six months, receiving round-the-clock care, pain relief, antibiotics, and IV fluids. She was placed on a cozy heating pad and given lots of love and gentle pets by our dedicated team. Over time, Pearl was making incredible strides—she began to eat again, gained enough strength to walk around, and even the fur of her face started growing back! Suddenly, there was light at the end of the tunnel.

Then, the miraculous day came when Pearl was discharged from the hospital! She spent the next few days curled up within her safe foster home, surrounded by constant love. The next step was to find this adoring girl a wonderful family, a task that didn’t take long at all.

Our American friend knew he wanted Pearl the moment they met. Our team scrambled to raise the funds necessary for Pearl’s freedom flight. And in the meantime, we finished up her vaccines, got her microchipped, and had her spayed.

Thanks to our incredible, supportive community, we were able to raise enough money to fly Pearl home. She and her adoring new owner traveled across the world to America, where they began their beautiful life together. You did this. You not only gave Pearl medical care and healing, but also offered her this wonderful new beginning.
