We’re jumping with joy! Our sweet Sorocaba has officially been adopted! We’re ready to celebrate, but first, we wanted to share his journey. Our long-time followers may be familiar with the hardships Sorocaba faced, and understand why his story is so special…

When we first met Sorocaba, he was hiding on a construction site. His frail, matted body trembled in pain. His injured, protruding eye had become a feeding ground for maggots, leaving him partially blind and in utter agony. Worms writhed inside his eye socket, eating away not just at his flesh, but at any remaining hope he had left. His situation was grim, but our team refused to turn our backs on Sorocaba. Not when he needed someone most.

We got to business, working closely with the medical team to shave down Sorocaba’s tangled coat and give him a soothing bath. The doctors provided some much-needed antibiotics, anti-inflammatories, and pain management. Soon after, Sorocaba underwent surgery to remove his damaged eye and close up the socket.

At the time of Sorocaba’s intake, our rescue wasn’t prepared to take on such an urgent medical case. But thanks to this community’s support, this sweet boy received the funding and supplies he so desperately needed to aid him on his path to healing. Before we knew it, Sorocaba’s big day arrived…
