Hazel

We are thrilled to share that Hazel is living it up with a loving family! They saw her for the absolute gem that she is—gentle, kind, and the perfect addition to any home. As you likely know, her life didn’t always start out this way. There was a time when her reality was far darker.

Hazel had been dumped at the vet in the most horrific state. She was exhausted, both physically and emotionally. Her emaciated body had been used to produce litter after litter. She was seen as nothing more than a cash cow. At four years old, it’s unclear just how many pregnancies she’s endured. When her body could no longer produce puppies, she was abandoned altogether.

Veterinarians soon discovered that Hazel’s uterus was dangerously infected—she needed IMMEDIATE, life-saving spay surgery to save her life. We funded her emergency procedure, and once she was strong enough, we brought her back to our rescue. Also, right before getting dumped at the hospital, Hazel had just given birth to four puppies. We rescued them as well, caring for them while Hazel focused on recovering.

Day by day, Hazel grew stronger. She healed beautifully from surgery, gained healthy weight, and began showcasing her loving personality in small, adorable ways. She’s gentle with other dogs, kids, and even cats. Despite her traumatic past, she’s truly the sweetest girl. We knew she’d find a wonderful home in no time, and to our joy, we were right!

Before we knew it, an amazing family adopted our sweet Hazel. We will miss her so much, but we also couldn’t be happier for her and this exciting new chapter. She’s been through a lot, and now, she finally has the opportunity to rest and soak up the love.
