Milton

Milton’s transformation has been nothing short of incredible. Thanks to your incredible support, Milton’s life has completely changed. This brave boy has been adopted! We are thrilled that Milton finally got his second chance, but before we pop the confetti, let’s take a moment and reflect on how he got to where he is today, because his journey has been anything but easy…

We first spotted Milton on the streets, so weak he could barely crawl. His exhausted body was riddled with evidence of abuse, the deep scars on his muzzle a clear sign that his mouth had been tied shut. We don’t know the horrors this boy endured in his past, but the scars on his sweet face and skinny leg were undeniable—Milton was a victim of unimaginable cruelty.

At the hospital, we learned from the doctors that both of his legs were broken from being bound so tightly. His open wounds were cleaned and treated, and Milton had a plethora of blood tests conducted. This poor boy was a bag of bones, the severe starvation he suffered for so long slowly consuming him. Between his extreme weakness and malnourishment, and the excruciating pain in his legs, it’s no wonder Milton could barely stand—his body and humanity had failed him. But we knew there was a light at the end of the tunnel for sweet Milton. We just had to get him there.

Despite his past, Milton never lost his gentle spirit. Although his fractures had healed in a way that couldn’t be corrected with surgery, he’s adapted beautifully to his new life and has the most adorable, unique way of walking. He’s fiercely independent, endlessly loving, and undoubtedly resilient. For several months, Milton worked towards recovery, and finally, the day came when he got his second chance.

Milton has been adopted!  Milton is headed to his forever home in Arizona, where he will have a couch to cuddle on, toys to enjoy, and even a sibling to play with! His new family previously adopted another one of our rescues, sweet Milly, and they’ve stayed in touch with us over the years. We know Milton is going to a home filled with love, and that his family will cherish him just as much as we do.
