We have some BIG news to share about CJ’s journey. This sweet senior has found his happily ever after with an amazing Animal Luvrs Dream Rescue alum! We’re ready to celebrate this beautiful success, but before we do, let’s take a moment to remember the struggles and victories that got us here... 

Some of you may remember the fragile, 11-year-old pup who arrived at our rescue in heartbreaking shape. When our team first met CJ, just the sight of him was devastating. His coat was so tangled that it tugged at his skin with every movement. The matting had even twisted tightly around his front paw, cutting off circulation and causing serious damage. 

Even worse, our vet discovered CJ had advanced Medial Patellar Luxations in both knees, which caused his kneecaps to slip painfully out of place, leaving him frozen in agony whenever he tried to walk. Our hearts were breaking for this neglected senior. We knew he couldn’t spend another moment in this kind of pain. 

Our team got to work right away. CJ melted with relief as the vets carefully shaved away the hardened mats of his coat. For the first time in who knows how long, this golden boy felt comfort and safety. These were HUGE first steps for a dog who had been so cruelly neglected. 

We weren’t sure how CJ’s recovery would go. But before we knew it, donations came trickling in. The treats and toys arriving at our doorstep made CJ’s days a little brighter, despite the medical challenges he continued to face. Every donation, every wish list gift, every kind word reminded this senior dog that he was loved and worth fighting for.

Our sweet CJ is finally home! His days are filled with love, belly rubs, and playing with his new doggy friends. CJ really hit the jackpot with his family. Just look at that smile! He knows he’s home. Welcome to this beautiful new chapter in your life, CJ!
