Tônico

Hooray for Tônico! Our beloved boy has fully recovered and is living out his dream. And it’s all thanks to you! Sadly, his life didn’t always start this way. From the very beginning, Tônico faced an uphill battle. Let's take a look at how this story unfolded.

The poor baby was found abandoned on a lonely stretch of a rural road with a gaping wound along his neck. It's unclear how he ended up there by himself; it's likely he was cruelly dumped. The wound had already begun to rot, threatening the poor puppy's life. 

Tônico’s finder carefully scooped him up and rushed him to the doors of a rescue organization he thought might be able to help. But, the most shocking part? They did nothing—not even basic wound care. Tônico’s wound worsened by the day, his fragile body fading fast. And that rescue chose instead to ignore him.

When we found out about Tônico’s suffering, we immediately stepped up to take over his care. We were appalled that this poor little baby didn’t even receive standard wound cleaning. His pain had been horrifically overlooked, and we will never understand why. Our team scrambled to get him the urgent care he needed, including IV fluids and pain relief. The wound was so severe that critical surgery was necessary to close it.

Tônico underwent the procedure like a champ. He came out the other side visibly feeling better. Still, his journey wasn’t over. Throughout recovery, he continued with ongoing care, including medications and follow-ups with the veterinarian. We gave him hearty meals, cozy blankets, and vibrant toys to gnaw on. Day by day, he grew stronger, showcasing the joyful, curious pup he had always been deep inside.

Once Tônico was cleared for adoption, something amazing happened. An incredible family swooped in and gave him a home. They fell head over heels for Tônico, and we don’t blame them—this little nugget is genuinely one of a kind! We knew that once he healed, he’d make the perfect addition to any family. And my goodness, were we right.

Thanks to you, Tônico is living the life he’s always deserved. He will never be abandoned again. Instead, he will be surrounded by endless love and warmth with plenty of snuggles to go around. We couldn’t have made this possible without you, and for that, we are so grateful. Thank you, again and again, for standing by this precious puppy in his time of need.
