Peach

After a lifetime of unimaginable cruelty, our precious Peach finally got her big break! This sweet Bulldog is on her way to her foster-to-adopt home, and we couldn’t be more thrilled. But before we celebrate, let’s take a moment to reflect on the road that got Peach to where she is today…

Peach was found by Animal Control, wandering the streets—starving, broken, and bearing the unmistakable scars of long-term abuse. This poor girl had been bred nearly to death, her fragile body exploited again and again for profit by heartless humans. When she was no longer “useful”, she was dumped like garbage and left to suffer in the blistering heat.

One of our dedicated rescue volunteers just happened to be one of the Animal Control Officers who responded to the scene. With the local shelter at capacity, our volunteer didn’t hesitate to contact us for support. Of course, we said yes. The next morning, we rushed Peach to the hospital.

Peach’s examination revealed the full extent of her health issues. She had virtually no teeth left, leaving her in constant oral pain and causing her tongue to hang out. Her skin was in terrible condition, marred by untreated issues. She was also riddled with mammary tumors, likely a consequence of relentless breeding. Though our resources were drained, we knew sweet Peach deserved a real chance. And so, we poured everything we had into her treatment.

We were able to find a loving foster home for Peach to begin her long road to recovery. She enjoyed days in the sun with her foster siblings, doing her best to chew on bones despite having no teeth. For the first time ever, Peach was experiencing what true love and joy really felt like. 

After several weeks in her foster home, Peach hit another minor setback when we received the result of her bloodwork. Thankfully, our team was able to scrape together the rest of the funds needed to cover the cost of her final treatment. We knew there was a light at the end of this very long tunnel—we just had to get there.

Finally, after months of hard-fought recovery and a lifetime of unimaginable neglect, Peach is on her way to her foster-to-adopt home! Her new family is waiting for her with open arms, and words simply can’t express how excited we are for sweet Peach. Through love, support, and determination, Peach was able to cross the finish line, and it’s all because of your incredible generosity.
