Today, we get to share the best kind of update—the one that reminds us exactly why we do what we do. Our sweet Braxton has officially been adopted! After everything he’s been through, this brave little soul is now living the life he always deserved. But before we jump into the celebration, we want to take a moment to reflect on just how far he’s come.

When Braxton first entered our care, his situation was heartbreaking. At three years old, this poor boy had been surviving on the streets with a horribly broken leg and an agonizing skin condition. He was emaciated, dehydrated, and limping along with his shattered limb hovering helplessly in the air. Braxton had clearly been in pain for a very long time, but somehow, this fighter found a way to see another day for three years. It’s truly a miracle he made it to us alive.

One day, a kind stranger found Braxton and brought him in. The moment we laid eyes on him, we knew he needed urgent help. He was immediately taken to the vet, where he received fluids, pain relief, and what may have been his first real meal in weeks. After a thorough examination, the vets informed us that Braxton’s leg was too damaged to be saved. The only way to give him a pain-free future was amputation.

Uncertain of the future and desperate for support, we turned to our animal-loving community, and you showed up. Your donations, gifts, and messages of support poured in. You made it possible for Braxton to get the life-changing surgery he needed. And thanks to you, everything went beautifully. His recovery, while not easy, was filled with love and gentle care from a dedicated foster family who made sure he had everything he needed to heal.  

Braxton learned how to move confidently on three legs. He gained weight, strength, and trust. Slowly, the sad, limping street dog was replaced by a joyful, goofy pup who loved belly rubs and snuggles. And then the day came that we all dreamed of. Braxton found his forever home.

Now, Braxton’s living with a family that absolutely adores him. He has cozy beds to nap in, people to shower him with affection, and a future filled with the safety, comfort, and unconditional love he never had before.
