The SunnySide Street Dogs team can hardly believe they’re writing these words—sweet Annie has officially been adopted! After everything she endured, Annie is finally safe in her forever home. But before the celebration begins, the team wants to take a moment to reflect on her incredible journey. 

When rescuers first met Annie, she was a shadow of the dog she is today. This fragile girl cowered in fear, her thin frame barely able to support her. Her skin told a heartbreaking story. Scattered across her body were painful burns, missing patches of fur, and oozing wounds. Though the cause was never fully determined, the injuries appeared human-inflicted. It was clear Annie had suffered unthinkable cruelty.

Her severe malnutrition had led to muscle atrophy, weakening her body even further. Yet through all of her pain, Annie’s gentle spirit never wavered. She longed for kindness, and SunnySide Street Dogs knew she deserved nothing less than a true chance at healing. They also knew they couldn’t do it alone. Annie’s recovery would require extraordinary resources, so they turned to the CUDDLY community for help.

And you answered. Overnight, donations and gifts began pouring in. Annie’s medical budget was replenished, and her recovery supplies arrived by the boxful. Thanks to your generosity, Annie received vital treatments, nourishing food, and the compassionate care she so desperately needed. Slowly but surely, she began to heal. Her body grew stronger, and her spirit blossomed.

Now, Annie’s beautiful transformation is complete. She has officially been adopted, and her new life is filled with joy and safety. Long-time supporters may recognize the names Clyde and Oreo, two of SunnsySide Street Dogs’ beloved rescues who are now Annie’s siblings! This once-broken soul is surrounded by love and companionship, and she couldn’t have found a more perfect family.
