Zero
Remember Zero? Well, today, Blazin’ Trails Bottle Babies has some great news to share. This sweetheart has grown up big and strong, and she’s officially been adopted! What a journey it’s been. Rescuers are ready to break out the confetti, but first, they wanted to take a moment to look back on Zero’s road to healing.
When Zero was still a newborn puppy, she experienced something horrific. A landscaping crew, not seeing the two abandoned litters of 17 pups, ran over these little lives with a lawn mower. It was a miracle that each baby survived, but one baby was critically injured. That pup was Zero.
The landscaping crew alerted Blazin’ Trails Bottle Babies, and rescuers raced Zero to the emergency room. The vet there said that Zero was too small to treat, and that humane euthanasia was the only option. Blazin’ Trails Bottle Babies said absolutely not, and brought Zero back to the safety of their rescue. They kept Zero warm throughout the night, losing sleep to ensure that she lived to see another day.
The next morning, rescuers took Zero to their trusted vet, who did his best to suture up Zero’s wounds. But by that point, the injury was too old, and the sutures didn’t hold. The tissue turned necrotic and left a gaping wound behind. The only way to heal Zero was from the inside out, slowly, taking it day by day.
Rescuers knew from the get-go that Zero’s rescue case would be a challenging one. They sent a plea for help out to the CUDDLY community, and animal lovers everywhere responded in no time. Thanks to YOUR support, constant wound care, impeccable suture site cleaning, and lots of love, Zero healed faster than anyone expected. She grew into a feisty, independent girl, ready to take on anything.
Now, Zero has transitioned into her forever life. The life Blazin’ Trails Bottle Babies worked so hard for her to have. Zero is now safe with a family who will love and cherish her every single day. These happy endings and new beginnings are the reason why rescuers keep going. To everyone who contributed to Zero’s care, thank you. Her second chance was possible through your kindness!
