Today, we have the most incredible news to share. Our beloved Brixie has been adopted! After everything this brave pup has endured, she’s finally found her forever family. Before we dive into the happy tears and celebrations, we want to take a moment to reflect on the long, difficult road that brought her here.

Brixie’s story began with unimaginable cruelty. A man was seen in a car, viciously beating her while someone nearby captured the horrifying act on video. That footage spread across social media like wildfire, sparking outrage and heartbreak among thousands who watched. Viewers flooded the police with calls and messages, pleading for action and presenting the video as evidence. Their compassion and persistence changed everything.

Thanks to those witnesses, investigating officers identified the man and confirmed his ownership of Brixie. He eventually admitted to being the person in the video and was charged with aggravated animal cruelty. Meanwhile, Brixie was rushed to an emergency vet clinic for immediate care.

There, X-rays revealed that both of her femoral heads were broken, and that she had chicken bones in her stomach. Even more disturbing, Brixie had human bite marks piercing her skin. It made our team sick to our stomachs. How much suffering had this sweet girl endured before she was finally saved?

Once transferred into the care of Tails of Hope Dog Rescue, Brixie began the long road to recovery. We knew that healing her broken body would require extensive medical care, including two FHO surgeries and physical therapy. We were determined to help Brixie, but our rescue didn’t have the funds to cover it all. So, we turned to our friends and supporters at CUDDLY with an urgent plea for help, hoping the community would rally behind her…

And you did! Donations, gifts, and messages of love poured in overnight. Thanks to your generosity, Brixie received both FHO surgeries, post-op physical therapy sessions, and the comfort she had always deserved. Slowly, her pain faded and her spirit blossomed. Every step she took was a victory, and it’s all thanks to your support.

And now, the moment we’ve all been waiting for—Brixie has found her forever home! Our precious, pizza-loving girl now has a wonderful family with four furry siblings, devoted parents, and a big backyard to run free in. Her foster mom, Dr. Fischer, Mallory, and the entire team at Bluff City Veterinary Specialists all played a part in this beautiful transformation, but it’s your kindness that made it possible. Thank you to everyone who donated to her care and cheered her on every step of the way. We’ll miss Brixie dearly, but our hearts are full knowing she finally has the life she’s always deserved.
