Roxie
Roxie’s story is nothing short of miraculous. After more than a year of heartbreak, searching, fear, and uncertainty, this brave girl has been reunited with her family in New York—just in time for the holidays. Her journey was long, painful, and nearly unbelievable… but it ends exactly the way it always should have: wrapped in the arms of the people who never stopped loving her.
Roxie’s story began with tragedy. Over a year ago, this sweet pittie pup was stolen right out of her own backyard. One moment, she was safe in the place she knew best, and the next, she was simply gone. Her devastated family searched endlessly—posting flyers, calling shelters, speaking to neighbors, refreshing lost-pet pages, and praying for even the smallest sign. Days turned into weeks, weeks into months… and hope, though never truly lost, began to dim.
Then, everything changed.
A local family in South Georgia found a terrified, mange-ridden stray wandering alone. Her skin was raw and painful, she was starving, and her eyes were filled with fear. They called us immediately, and we rushed to help her. We had no idea that this fragile girl was about to reveal a miracle.
At the vet, we scanned her for a microchip—and one appeared. We assumed she’d been abandoned or lost recently. But when we called the number, we weren’t met with indifference. We were met with sobs. On the other end of the line was a family in New York who had spent over a year believing they might never see their beloved Roxie again.
Roxie still had a long road ahead. Her skin was severely damaged from mange, and she needed medications, vaccines, and time to heal. But slowly, beautifully, her skin began to recover. The raw patches softened. The pain faded. Her fur began to grow back. And with every passing day, Roxie became more herself—hopeful, gentle, loving, and ready to go home.
Thanks to the kindness of donors, rescuers, and an entire community who rallied for her, Roxie made the journey all the way from South Georgia back to New York. A family of rescuers worked together to transport her mile by mile until she was finally returned to the people she loves most.
Microchips reunite families, but only when they’re registered and scanned. Roxie is living proof of the miracle they can create. Today, she is safe. She is home. She is wrapped in love, healing, comfort, and familiarity. Her family’s tears of grief have become tears of joy.
And none of this would have been possible without the CUDDLY community. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you so much to everyone who donated, shared, and supported Roxie’s journey home. Your kindness didn’t just help us heal her body—you gave an entire family their miracle ending.
