While that alone is enough to make our hearts soar, her story becomes even more powerful when you understand everything she had to overcome to get here. This reunion isn’t just happy. The day Chita didn’t come home, her family immediately felt that something was wrong. When she finally stumbled back to them, their horror was indescribable. Severe burns covered Chita’s entire spine, leaving her back blistered and oozing. Someone had poured hot oil over her.
