Levine

We can hardly believe we get to write this update. Today, we are celebrating Levine’s brand-new beginning. This brave boy, who once lay paralyzed and broken after a violent hit-and-run, is now healed and officially adopted! His journey has been long and painful, but every step brought him to this moment. Now, he has a warm home, a loving family, and a future filled with comfort. Let’s take a look back at how far Levine has come.

When Levine first arrived in our care, his injuries were devastating. He had a deep facial wound, severe spinal pain, and crepitus in his hips, meaning his joints were grinding together with every attempt to move. His back legs were entirely paralyzed. He was dehydrated, fighting infection, sneezing from nasal discharge, and so weak that standing was nearly impossible. Yet even in agony, Levine looked up at us with pleading, determined eyes. He wanted to live. And we would fight right alongside him.

Our team rushed Levine to the hospital, where X-rays revealed that the head of his femur had been completely destroyed. Levine underwent his first delicate surgery to remove the shattered bone in hopes of relieving his pain. But his fight wasn’t over. He still required a second major procedure, one to realign his iliac wing and stabilize his fractured pelvis. Without it, Levine’s mobility and long-term quality of life would be heartbreakingly limited.

With mounting medical bills and an overwhelming number of rescue cases already on their plate, Protect Animals Worldwide desperately needed help to keep Levine’s treatment going. And you—our compassionate CUDDLY community—showed up for him. You donated, shared his story, sent love, and gave Levine the fighting chance he deserved. Thanks to you, he completed his surgeries, received specialized physiotherapy, and slowly learned how to walk again without unbearable pain.

And now, here is the part that makes our hearts leap with joy. Levine has healed beautifully! He’s continuing his physiotherapy, but he’s stronger and so very happy. And the best news of all? He has been adopted by a loving family who cherishes him completely. They will continue his care, give him all the affection he spent so long without, and offer him the safe, joyful life he was denied for far too long.

To everyone who donated, shared, encouraged, and believed in Levine—thank you. Your kindness transformed a paralyzed, suffering dog into a beloved family member. Your generosity made it possible for Levine to heal, to walk, and now to thrive in his forever home. Stories like his are why we fight for these animals every single day. Welcome home, sweet Levine. You deserve every bit of this beautiful new life.
