Dobby
Today, we are thrilled to share that Dobby has finally found the happy ending he fought so hard to reach—he has been adopted! After months of pain, healing, travel, and unbelievable resilience, this brave little survivor is now safe in the arms of a family who cherishes him. His journey has been long and heartbreaking, but today, Dobby is living the life he always deserved.
When we first met Dobby, his situation was nothing short of devastating. After escaping from his home, he wandered into the yard of neighbors who had harmed his family before—neighbors who poisoned his mother and littermates years earlier. When Dobby crossed their boundary again, they seized the chance to hurt him once more. They hurled him from their rooftop, his tiny body shattering on impact. Somehow, against all odds, he survived.
His owner found him barely clinging to life and was completely distraught. Unable to afford the urgent medical care he needed, she reached out to social media for help, and that’s when his story reached us. We stepped in immediately.
Dobby had a fractured hip, internal injuries, extreme dehydration, and a cleft palate that made even basic functions like eating and drinking painful and dangerous. His condition was critical, and his road to recovery would be long.
And long it was, but Dobby never stopped fighting. With the help of dedicated veterinarians, he underwent surgery to repair his damaged palate. For the first time since his trauma, he could eat and drink on his own again, even though the injury permanently changed the shape of his face. His leg required extensive monitoring, supplements, and injections to support nerve healing. We hoped to avoid further surgery, and his care team worked tirelessly to give him the best chance possible. Every step of progress felt like a small miracle.
But perhaps the biggest miracle came at the end of his journey. Dobby traveled all the way from Cairo, Egypt, to America, and when he finally arrived, he walked straight into the arms of the family that would become his forever home!
To every single donor, supporter, and advocate who helped make Dobby’s recovery possible: thank you. Your compassion carried him through every surgery, every sleepless night, and every mile of his journey. You gave him the life he has today.
