Today, we are thrilled to share that Kahlua has finally found the happy ending she fought so hard to reach—she has been adopted! 

When 10-week-old Kahlua (FKA Kisses) first came into our care, she was full of curiosity and little puppy energy. She loved exploring, sniffing everything in sight, and showering anyone nearby with kisses. But just a few days later, everything changed. Kahlua suddenly couldn’t move her back legs, one of her eyes was dilated, and her temperature spiked dangerously high. It was terrifying. She was just a tiny pup, and she needed help fast.

We rushed her into emergency care, giving her fluids and medications to stabilize her. Blood tests were sent off, and the vets suspected an autoimmune disorder, though they weren’t sure yet what was wrong. Watching this little puppy fight for her life was heartbreaking, but her spirit never wavered. With every shaky step she took, we saw hope. She was determined to keep going, and we were determined to help her.

Thanks to the love and generosity of so many kind people, Kahlua began to heal. Slowly, she regained strength, taking wobbly steps and showing the bravery of a pup far beyond her tiny size. Every milestone was a victory, not just for her, but for everyone who had opened their hearts to help her get through this.

Then came the moment we’d all been dreaming of: Kahlua found her forever home. Her new family is ensuring that sweet Kahlua is thriving, surrounded by love and warmth. The little pup who once faced a life-or-death struggle now spends her days curled up on laps, soaking up affection, and living the happy, secure life she’s always deserved.

To every single donor, supporter, and advocate who helped make Kahlua’s recovery possible: thank you. Your compassion carried her through every mile of her journey. You gave her the life she has today.

Kahlua’s story reminds us why we do this work.
