We have amazing news about Evie! Sweet Evie, the fragile Great Dane who came to us starving, scared, and unsure of the world, has officially been adopted. And that’s not all. But before the big reveal and before we get swept up in celebration, we want to take a moment to honor the long, difficult journey that brought Evie where she is today.

When Animal Control first found Evie, she was wandering the streets. This sweet girl was heartbreakingly thin. Just eight months old, this gentle giant had already endured more hardship than any puppy should. And when her owner was finally contacted, they didn’t ask about her condition or show any concern for her well-being. Instead, they surrendered her without hesitation, leaving her future entirely in our hands.

At intake, vets confirmed that Evie needed specialized nutrition, medical support, and extremely careful refeeding to prevent further harm to her fragile body. Her GI system was inflamed, her stomach was empty, and her spirit was so clearly shaken that we felt it, too. We knew she would require a full medical workup, plenty of supplements, and constant monitoring. Her care would demand time, skill, resources, and above all, compassion. We refused to let this precious life slip through the cracks. Evie deserved to be cherished, but we knew we couldn’t do it all by ourselves.

And so, we reached out to the CUDDLY community with a desperate plea for help, and you answered. Donation by donation, gift by gift, you made it possible for us to continue Evie’s transformative treatment. Your support ensured she had the food, vet visits, and gentle care required to stabilize her fragile health. Because of you, Evie began to feel safe for the first time in her young life.

Slowly, Evie blossomed. Her coat grew shinier, and at last, the scale began to show healthy progress in her refeeding journey. Her stools improved and became parasite‑free, which was a huge milestone for her recovery. And in her foster home, she discovered trust again. Evie completely adored her foster dad and followed him from room to room. Though she was still cautious around strangers, once she realized she was safe, all she wanted was to love and be loved.

And now, for the moment we’ve been waiting to share… Evie is officially adopted by her foster family! They just couldn’t imagine their lives without her, and we can’t blame them. The frightened, starving pup we first met has transformed into a confident, cherished Great Dane with a lifetime of love ahead of her.
