Mocha

We can hardly believe we finally get to share this incredible update. After everything he endured, sweet Mocha is HOME. From being abandoned and forgotten in unimaginable conditions to traveling across the world to his forever family, Mocha’s journey is one that will stay with us forever, and it’s all thanks to the compassion and support of this amazing community.

When Mocha was first found, his situation was dire. He had been left outside a shelter in a kennel for nearly two days under the blistering sun. He had no food and no water. Even worse, he was found covered in his own feces. Based on his condition, it was clear he had likely been trapped in that filthy cage for weeks before being dumped. By the time shelter staff discovered him, Mocha was severely dehydrated and barely responsive. His matted fur and exhausted body told a heartbreaking story of prolonged neglect.

When the shelter staff notified our team, we rushed into action, knowing time was critical. Mocha required two full days of IV fluids just to stabilize him. He was started on antibiotics and treated for multiple parasites and infections, then placed in isolation so he could rest and begin healing safely. For the first time in far too long, Mocha was surrounded by people who refused to give up on him, even when resources were stretched thin.

Slowly but surely, Mocha began to turn a corner. He got a much-needed shave, which freed him from the painful mats that had imprisoned his skin. He continued antibiotics and received treatments for fleas, worms, and ear mites. After several days in the hospital, this resilient boy was finally strong enough to leave and recover in comfort. With each passing day, more of Mocha’s gentle, sweet personality began to shine through.

Then came the opportunity of a lifetime. A loving forever home was waiting for Mocha, but it was thousands of miles away. With his passport and vaccines complete, all that stood between Mocha and his future was the cost of travel. Once again, we turned to you—the CUDDLY community. And once again, you showed up. Because of your generosity, Mocha boarded a flight in December and made the long journey from Egypt to North America, alongside another rescued kitty.

Today, we are overjoyed to say that Mocha is settling into his wonderful new home in Canada! He is safe, loved, and finally experiencing the warmth and security he was always meant to have. To everyone who donated, shared his story, and believed in his future, thank you. Mocha’s happily ever after exists because of you. This is why we do what we do, and we couldn’t do it without your kindness. Welcome home, Mocha. You deserve every moment of this beautiful new life.
