Today, we are thrilled to share that Arlo (FKA Marlo) has finally found the happy ending he fought so hard to reach—he has been adopted! 

When we first met him, Arlo was barely hanging on. This tiny puppy was found wandering the streets of Detroit, starving, swollen, and ravaged by painful mange. His fragile body told a story of prolonged suffering, and the fear and exhaustion in his eyes made it clear he had known far too much hardship for such a young life. The moment we saw him, we knew we couldn’t walk away.

Arlo was pulled from the shelter and rushed straight to the veterinarian, where treatment began immediately. He was battling severe mange, painful inflammation, and the effects of prolonged malnutrition. Medicated baths, oral medication, supportive care, and proper nutrition became part of his daily routine. The road ahead was long and expensive, but thanks to an outpouring of compassion and support, Arlo finally had a chance to heal.

At first, his progress was quiet and cautious. Though his body slowly began to respond to treatment, Arlo arrived emotionally shut down. For days, he was too scared to eat or drink with people nearby. He didn’t bark or whine. He stayed curled in his bed, unsure if this new world was safe. But day by day, with patience and love, he began to trust. His skin healed, the swelling faded, and soft hair slowly started to grow back. He gained weight, discovered toys, and began taking brave little steps outside his comfort zone.

Once Arlo pushed past the worst of his infection, something beautiful happened. He blossomed. The sick, painful puppy we first met transformed into a happy, healthy dog with a gentle, loving personality. His true colors shone through, and it became clear he had always been a good boy trapped in a body that hurt.

And then came the ending we all hope for. This Christmas, Arlo found his forever home. Fully healed, officially adopted, and completely cherished, he is now living the life he always deserved. Cozy naps, playful moments, and even romps in the snow are part of his everyday world.
