We have GOOD NEWS today! When we first met Pearl, she was clinging to life after enduring unimaginable cruelty. And now, this sweetheart is living her dream life. Her journey began in heartbreak, but today, it ends in hope. Before we celebrate Pearl’s adoption, we want to take a moment to look back on just how much this brave girl has overcome.

Pearl had known only one home for her entire life, until the day she was abandoned on the unforgiving streets. Vulnerable and defenseless, she became the target of a brutal attack by a group of children who intentionally set out to hurt her. By the time we found Pearl stumbling through a notoriously dangerous area, she was barely hanging on. We rushed her to the hospital, knowing every second mattered.

The news the vets delivered was devastating. Pearl’s injuries were so severe that both of her eyes had to be removed in a desperate attempt to save her life. She also suffered a severely broken jaw and required intensive pain management, antibiotics, fluids, and tube feeding. After emergency surgery, Pearl spent six long weeks hospitalized, enduring repeated blood tests, IV fluids for anemia and dehydration, and constant monitoring to ensure no infection spread to her brain.

Thanks to the incredible CUDDLY community, we had the funds and resources we needed to continue this sweetheart’s care. It was a long, grueling recovery, but Pearl never gave up. Little by little, she began to fight back. Pearl started eating on her own. She gained strength. Her body healed, and her true personality slowly emerged. When she was finally discharged from the hospital, she settled into foster care, soaking up quiet moments and the kindness she had been denied for far too long. For the first time, Pearl was safe.

Then came the miracle we never could have predicted. An American friend met Pearl—and it was love at first sight. The only obstacle was distance. Funding an international flight and travel requirements felt overwhelming, but once again, this community stepped in. Because of YOU, Pearl’s freedom flight became a reality.

Today, Pearl is home in the United States. She is with a human who cherishes her beyond measure. She may be blind, but she is surrounded by love, safety, and a future she never knew was possible.
