Sweet Valentina, who was found with a horrific, deliberate injury, has not only survived but also joined the forever family she has always deserved! Her journey has been one of pain, courage, and extraordinary love, and today it ends exactly the way we all hoped it would, with Valentina safe in a loving home. But before we celebrate, we want to take a moment to reflect on the long road that brought Valentina here.

That fateful day when our team saw the desperate social media plea for Valentina, our hearts stopped. Nothing could have prepared us for seeing Valentina in person. This precious girl’s front leg had been violently torn from her body at the elbow, leaving behind exposed bone and rotting tissue. The injury was so severe, so intentional, that it knocked the air out of everyone’s lungs. It was gut-wrenching. And yet, through unimaginable agony, Valentina chose to trust our team when she had every reason not to trust humans ever again. We are so grateful for her resilience and patience.

At the hospital, the reality of Valentina’s suffering became even clearer. Her wound showed signs that she had been injured days earlier, meaning she had endured this trauma alone, hiding in pain with no help. Urgent surgery was her only chance at survival. As she was prepped for amputation, our hearts were heavy, but we were hopeful that this would be the moment her life finally turned around.

Thanks to an outpouring of love and support from this CUDDLY community, Valentina made it through surgery. She was also spayed during the procedure, setting her on the path toward full recovery. In foster care, she began learning how to navigate the world as a tripod, and her strength and determination amazed us every single day. Her resilience, her joy, and her gentle spirit shone brighter with each passing week.

Then came the moment that changed everything. When Valentina met her future dad, there was an instant connection. One look into her soft, soulful eyes, and he was completely smitten. There was no hesitation, no doubt—Valentina was home. After surviving unthinkable cruelty, she had finally found the unconditional love she had always deserved.
