We are overjoyed to share with you Ramesses’ complete transformation story. As you read this, our sweet angel is having the time of his life with his new, loving family. It’s still difficult for us to bear remembering what his condition was like in the beginning, but doing so also reminds us of the power of this CUDDLY community and how much real change and healing you all bring to the animals in our care with your generosity. Read below, and if your eyes are dry by the end of it…you’re doing something wrong!

Five-month-old Ramesses was found wandering the streets alone. His frail, skinny body told a story no puppy should ever have to tell. He had been abandoned and severely neglected, and was covered in thick, crusted scabs. His skin was raw, inflamed, and infected. A kind stranger noticed his suffering, and thankfully, didn’t turn a blind eye or continue on with their day. They stopped what they were doing and rushed him to a clinic, but Ramesses’ condition was so severe that the veterinarians there immediately reached out to us. From the moment Ramesses entered our care, it was all hands on deck to save this fragile life.

Treatment began right away. Ramesses was placed on antibiotics, flea and tick prevention, medicated baths, and steroids to calm the intense inflammation burning across his skin. Day by day, his body began to respond. By early November, the transformation was already incredible. The swelling started to go down. His skin began to heal. His energy returned. And despite everything he had endured at such a young age—starvation, neglect, and abandonment—Ramesses was nothing but love. He wagged his tail, sought affection, and reminded us all that resilience can exist even after unimaginable suffering.

As the weeks passed, Ramesses continued to thrive. The once-broken puppy became playful, curious, and full of life. It was almost hard to believe the condition we originally found him in. His coat healed, his strength returned, and the pain that once consumed him became a distant memory. And then came the moment we had all been waiting for.

On January 15th, Ramesses was officially adopted. This sweet boy, who once wandered alone and hurting, now has a home, a family, and a future filled with safety and love. No more pain. No more neglect.
