Victor
Because of your incredible generosity, Victor is still here and healing. What once felt impossible has become a reality: this senior boy is now safe, stable, and surrounded by care instead of cruelty. Your donations didnât just change Victorâs circumstancesâthey saved his life, giving him comfort, medical treatment, and the chance to recover with dignity. Before we share where he is today, itâs important to remember where his journey began.
When Victor was found on the side of a dirt road in Mexico, he was barely holding on. At 10 years old, his small body was exhausted, his overgrown, matted fur crawling with fleas and ticks, and his legs too weak to stand. It was clear that if help hadnât come when it did, Victor may not have survived.
Because of your generosity, Victor was rushed straight to the hospital the moment he entered our care. He was trembling, unable to meet our gaze, blinking through painful discharge crusted over his eyes. The veterinary team immediately got to work, giving him a medicated bath to relieve the infestation. Bloodwork revealed he was battling Anaplasmosis, a serious tick-borne disease requiring ongoing medication.
Victor spent three long weeks hospitalized, receiving intensive care, treatment, and constant monitoring. Slowly, day by day, his strength began to return. Today, over 90 days later, Victor is stable and safe, surrounded by compassion and patience as he continues his recovery. While he is not yet fully healed, he is no longer alone, no longer suffering in silence, and no longer invisible.
Your donations made this transformation possible. Every dollar helped cover his hospitalization, parasite treatment, diagnostics, medications, and the specialized care a senior dog like Victor needs.
Because of you, Victor now knows comfort, safety, and kindnessâperhaps for the first time in his life.
Victorâs journey isnât over yet, but his progress is a powerful reminder of why rescue matters. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to everyone who opened their hearts to him. Your support gave Victor dignity, relief from pain, and the chance to heal at his own pace. This is what compassion looks like.
