Today, we have the most incredible news to share—Libby has been adopted! It’s almost impossible to believe how far she’s come, and none of this could have happened without your unwavering support. Before we pop the confetti, let’s take a moment to reflect on the journey that got Libby to where she is today.

For months, Libby survived on borrowed time. She lingered around an old store, terrified of people and too scared to let anyone get close enough to help. Each rescue attempt sent her sprinting away, and with a busy highway nearby, every single day felt like it could be her last. What no one knew then was just how much pain she was enduring.

When we first spotted her a week before she was captured, it was clear she was suffering, but it was also clear that saving her would take a village. Finally, a dedicated trapping couple drove two hours, refusing to give up. On their second trip, they succeeded. Libby was safe. But safety was only the beginning of uncovering the truth.

At the hospital, X-rays revealed something devastating: Libby hadn’t just been injured—she had been shot. A shotgun blast had fractured her humerus. Over time, the bone healed incorrectly, leaving her shoulder severely compromised. Her lower leg had contracted from healing the wrong way, and thick calluses formed where she was forced to bear weight unnaturally just to survive. She had endured unimaginable pain, alone.

The veterinarian confirmed reconstruction wasn’t possible. The only humane option was amputation. Within days, Libby underwent surgery. And thanks to you, we were able to say yes to the care she desperately needed.

Then, the day we were waiting for finally came. An adoption application recently came in for her, and just as everyone was processing the possibility of her starting a new chapter, her foster family realized something in their hearts: they couldn’t let her go. They made it official. Libby is home, and we could not have dreamed up a more perfect ending for her.

Today, she is thriving. She is happy, confident, and completely unaware that she only has three legs. In fact, she’s already mastered jumping onto the kitchen table, which has quickly become her favorite hangout spot, especially during mealtime. Her resilience is nothing short of inspiring.

To every single person who donated, shared her story, prayed, or cheered her on, thank you. None of this would have been possible without your support. Because of you, a dog who survived unimaginable cruelty got her happy ending!
