Martin
We are overjoyed to be sharing this news with you today. Martin has been adopted by his foster family! After enduring a brutal attack and unimaginable suffering, Martin has healed and is now living his best life surrounded by comfort and care. And itâs all thanks to you!
When Martin was first found, he was hiding under a strangerâs shed, too terrified to come out. Hunger was the only thing strong enough to force him into the open, and when he did, our team was horrified. His ear was a bloody, mangled mess, and his body was covered in infected bite wounds. It was clear he had been attacked and left to suffer alone. His injuries werenât freshâhis ear tissue had already turned necrotic. For days, maybe longer, Martin had been hiding in pain, waiting for help that finally came just in time.
He was rushed to the emergency hospital, where the veterinary team acted quickly. Martin was started on pain medication and antibiotics before being taken into urgent surgery to save what remained of his ear. Sadly, part of it could not be saved and had to be removed. His body was riddled with puncture wounds, and every precaution was taken to prevent infection and sepsis. Despite everything he had endured, Martin showed nothing but sweetness, proving his spirit was never broken.
His recovery wasnât just physical. It was emotional, too. But with time, patience, and love, Martin began to trust again. And then, something incredible happened. The foster family who welcomed him in saw just how special he was, and they couldnât let him go. In the best kind of âfoster fail,â Martin found his forever home right where he was healing.
Now, Martin is living a life once unimaginable. He is relaxed, safe, loved, and even enjoying âisland timeâ down in Marco Island. While he still carries the scars of his past, his heart has been fully mended.
Thank you to everyone who donated, shared his story, and stood by him when he needed it most. It truly takes a village to save a life like Martinâs, and because of you, he gets to live the happy ending he always deserved. Go live your best life, sweet boy!
