When they returned, they were horrified to see Maeve had vomited what little she had eaten. Her body was a clear testament to severe starvation, and doctors feared complications such as obstructions, pyometra, or other unseen medical issues. Every second counted, and her life was hanging in the balance. Our team sprang into action, transporting her immediately to a foster home in Houston, where emergency veterinary care began without delay.

At the hospital, doctors worked tirelessly to stabilize her fragile body. Maeve was started on a carefully managed plan to rebuild her strength—nutritional support, medications, and close monitoring to ensure she could safely keep food down.
