The moment we’ve been hoping for is finally here! Alfie has made a full recovery and found his forever home! After everything this sweet boy endured, he is now safe and thriving. It’s almost impossible to believe this is the same dog. We’re ready to break out the confetti, but before we do, we want to take a moment to remember just how far Alfie has come.

When Alfie was first found, he was barely alive. Thrown out by his owner, he waited outside his old home, sleeping on the sidewalk, hoping someone would come back. No one ever did. By the time our team reached him, Alfie was lying motionless in the street. Fleas and ticks swarmed his coat. One of his eyes was bulging out of his skull. His entire body was burning with infection. We knew there wasn’t a second to lose.

We rushed Alfie into emergency care, fighting to stabilize him. A life-saving blood transfusion was secured from Cairo, and even then, his condition remained critical. Testing revealed that blood parasites were destroying his red blood cells, and his damaged eye required complex surgery. Week after week, Alfie bravely endured treatments, holding on to survival despite the odds stacked against him.

Knowing we needed support to carry Alfie through this difficult chapter, we sent a plea for help out to the CUDDLY community—and you answered. Through it all, you showed up for this hurting soul. Your donations made it possible for us to transfer him to a specialized hospital, continue his treatments, and eventually move forward with the surgery he so desperately needed. It wasn’t an easy road to healing. There were setbacks, fears, and plenty of uncertain moments, but your support helped Alfie make it through every single challenge.

And then, almost overnight, everything changed. Alfie began to heal. His skin recovered, his fur grew back, and the light slowly returned to his eyes. Then the day finally came when Alfie was strong and healthy. This sweetheart was ready for the next chapter we had been dreaming of all along. Alfie began his search for a home where he would never be abandoned again.

Today, after so much heartache, Alfie is living his best life. He has traveled to the UK and been adopted into a loving family who ADORES him. The dog who once lay dying in the street is now surrounded by warmth and love. To everyone who believed in Alfie and refused to give up on him, thank you. You didn’t just save his life.
