Jo Dee has officially been adopted! The words still don’t feel real, but they are. The little husky who was once barely holding on now has a forever home, a family who loves her endlessly, and we couldn’t be more thrilled. Jo Dee’s story has been anything but easy, which makes this happy ending all the more sweet. 

When we first found Jo Dee, it was almost too heartbreaking to comprehend. She had been left outside in the dead of a Texas winter with nothing but a thin blanket. Her body was completely emaciated, her fur nearly gone, her skin raw and inflamed from neglect. She was curled tightly into herself, shivering, too weak to even lift her head for help. Those piercing blue eyes told a story of suffering that words could never fully capture. We knew in that moment that if she stayed there, she wouldn’t survive the night.

The early days were critical. Jo Dee was rushed to safety, given a warm place to rest, and finally a full meal. But saving her life was only the beginning. The healing that followed took months. Months of medical care, careful refeeding, and round-the-clock attention. She spent time at the ranch before moving into one of our incredible medical foster homes, where true transformation began.

Little by little, Jo Dee started to come back to life. Her body grew stronger, and her skin began to heal. And her personality? It blossomed into something unforgettable. Even after everything she had endured, her spirit refused to be broken. And somewhere along that journey, something beautiful happened. The very person who helped nurse her back to health fell completely in love. The bond they built was undeniable, and now, it’s forever. Jo Dee wasn’t just being fostered anymore. She was home.

Today, Jo Dee is safe, cherished, and adored. She has a soft place to sleep, a full belly every day, and someone who will never let her feel pain or abandonment again. She even learned how to “say” I love you—a perfect reflection of the love that now surrounds her!
