Jett

Today, we get to share with you the kind of update that makes all the hard nights worth it. Those of you following our rescue work may remember Jett, the Russian Blue, who was found dragging his paralyzed body through the streets. Now, this sweetheart’s life has turned around in the best way possible. Jett is officially HOME. After everything he’s been through, this incredible boy has found his forever family, and our hearts are overflowing with joy. This is the ending we had hoped for all along. Let’s take a moment to look back at Jett’s journey from heartbreak to home.

Jett’s life changed in an instant. After being hit by a car, he was left to fend for himself on the streets, dragging his body across the asphalt for days. He was desperate for someone to notice him, and after what felt like an eternity, someone did. A kind passerby scooped Jett up and rushed him to a local shelter, but even then, his life was still in danger. As a paralyzed cat without intensive medical needs, Jett was scheduled for euthanasia the very same day.

At the last possible moment, our team heard about the situation and scrambled to pull Jett to safety. We knew we didn’t have the funds. We knew we didn’t have the supplies. But we also knew we couldn’t let Jett die. Not after everything he had been through. Right away, we rushed Jett to the hospital, where the doctors got to work providing care. Doctors confirmed that Jett had severe bruising, pain, anemia, and partial paralysis. While nothing was broken, the damage to his body was extensive, and his future was uncertain.

Even with the odds stacked against him, Jett didn’t give up. Slowly, signs of hope began to appear. The swelling started to go down, and incredibly, Jett was able to go to the bathroom on his own. He remained hospitalized, continuing treatment with medications and strict care, while we celebrated every bit of progress. Then came a turning point. Jett was placed with an extraordinary foster, Leslie, who has dedicated her life to caring for special needs cats.

And that’s when everything began to change. With Leslie’s patience, skill, and unwavering love, Jett started making incredible strides. Through therapy and determination, Jett began working his legs, even taking assisted steps with a sling. Day by day, he grew stronger. While he may never regain full mobility, his quality of life has improved in ways we once only dreamed of. He can even take steps on his own now!

And here’s where things get really exciting. Leslie has officially adopted Jett. The same woman who saw this sweetheart’s potential from the very beginning knew she couldn’t let him go. This once-forgotten boy, who was just hours away from losing his life, is now cherished by someone who truly understands him. We couldn’t have imagined a better life for Jett.
