Our hearts are bursting with joy because we get to share this incredible update! Our sweet Lio, who was found fighting to survive, has not only healed, but has been ADOPTED. This brave boy now has a loving family to call his own. After every obstacle he fought to overcome, he is finally home. Let’s take a moment to look back at just how far he’s come.

When Lion was first found, he was wandering the streets alone. Every other step, he collapsed to the ground. His body shook uncontrollably, his legs weak and unreliable beneath him. It was a gut-wrenching sight, and our team feared the worst. We suspected either severe trauma or something even more dangerous. We rushed Lion to the clinic, desperate for answers, hoping we weren’t already too late to save him.

At the hospital, our fears were confirmed. Lion tested positive for Distemper. The virus had already taken a neurological toll, leaving him with myoclonia—constant, involuntary tremors—and severely impacting his mobility. He could barely stand. We knew there would be a long, grueling road to recovery ahead.

Our team sent out a desperate plea for support to the cuddly community, and you answered. With your help, we gave Lion everything he needed to begin his healing journey. We secured medications, medical monitoring, specialized care, and the nutrition he needed to keep going. Day by day, he held on. After months of fighting came the moment we had been hoping for since the very beginning. Against all odds, Lion beat Distemper. He was discharged from the hospital, neutered, vaccinated, and brought safely into our sanctuary to continue healing.

And then, the day finally arrived. Five months after his rescue, the boy we once feared would never make it found his forever home. A family saw Lion, loved him, and chose him. Lion is now living the life he’s always deserved. He has a warm bed, nutritious food, a cozy home, and people who cherish him. We could not be happier for this precious soul.
