Today, we have the most wonderful news to share. Champagne has been adopted and is finally home! None of this would have been possible without you. To everyone who donated, shared her story, and stood by her through every painful update—thank you. Your kindness quite literally changed the course of her life.

Champagne’s journey began in heartbreak. She arrived at a local shelter as a stray, her body covered in bite wounds from head to toe. One of her eyes was severely infected, swollen shut, and agonizing. She was limping on a badly injured leg, later revealed to have multiple healing fractures.

We pulled her from the shelter immediately and rushed her into emergency veterinary care, fearing the worst. X-rays confirmed the extent of her injuries, and her condition was far more complex than it first appeared. Her eye infection was so severe that vets couldn’t yet determine if it could be saved, and her fractured leg required strong pain management and careful monitoring.

Her healing journey was not quick. Champagne endured weeks of medication, follow-up exams, and careful rechecks. There were setbacks along the way—moments of concern about her eye, moments where her leg needed extra time, and moments where we simply had to wait and trust her body to heal. But slowly, she began to improve. The swelling in her eye reduced. Her pain became more manageable. And little by little, Champagne started to feel like a cat who could believe in tomorrow again.

At a later veterinary visit, she received her vaccines and continued progressing well overall. Her leg showed encouraging healing, and her eye improved enough that we cautiously stepped down treatments while continuing to monitor closely. Even when an unexpected discovery during her spay revealed that her eye would ultimately need to be removed, it became a turning point toward relief—an end to the discomfort she had carried for so long. She recovered bravely once again, proving just how resilient she truly was. And then came the day everything changed.

At a meet and greet held at the Dallas Pets Alive Adoption Container, Champagne met her forever family. Among the visitors was a compassionate 16-year-old girl who has spent years fostering and bottle-feeding kittens and puppies since she was just six years old. With her family’s full support, something instantly clicked. Champagne was chosen!

It was a day filled with quiet joy and tears of happiness. Today, Champagne is thriving in her new home because of the care she received and the compassion of those who made it possible. To every donor who helped cover her surgeries, medications, diagnostics, and recovery—you gave her more than treatment. You gave her comfort and healing. And ultimately, you gave her the chance to be chosen. Thank you for standing with Champagne every step of the way.
