We have the BEST news to share today! Nigel Thornberry has been ADOPTED! After every hardship and hurt this sweet boy survived, he is finally safe and living the life he always deserved. It’s hard to believe this is the same cat we met not long ago, but thanks to your selfless support, his story now has the happiest ending. Let’s take a moment to look back on how far Nigel’s come.

When Nigel first arrived at our rescue, his condition was truly heartbreaking. Found wandering the streets alone, he was suffering from severe dermatitis and a brutal case of Sarcoptic mange, also known as Scabies. His skin was inflamed and littered with painful scabs. Large patches of fur had fallen out. Nigel’s itching was relentless, and on top of it all, he carried an old eye injury with an excruciating ulcer that needed careful, urgent care. It was clear he had been living in agony for far too long.

Right away, we got Nigel to the veterinary clinic. He began treatment with topical medications and antibiotics as we worked to get his infections under control. When we accepted Nigel’s case, we knew that his healing wouldn’t happen overnight. His recovery would take plenty of TLC and plenty of resources. And so, we turned to the CUDDLY community, hoping someone would see the same gentle soul that we saw. A soul worthy of a second chance.

And to our relief, you showed up for him. Because of your generosity, Nigel received the care he so desperately needed to begin his journey back to healing. Slowly but surely, his skin began to improve. His scabs faded, his fur started to grow back, and the constant discomfort he once lived with slipped into memory. Day by day, we watched Nigel transform, and as his body healed, so did his spirit.

And then, the moment we had all been hoping for from the very beginning finally arrived. Nigel captured the hearts of a loving family who had recently moved from South Africa, and with this family, he found his forever home! Nigel is already so cherished, and it’s clear he has found exactly where he belongs.

From a life of pain on the streets to a future filled with love, Nigel’s journey is nothing short of moving. To everyone who donated, shared his story, and stood by him during his darkest moments, THANK YOU. You gave this sweet boy a much-deserved second chance, and we are endlessly grateful to have you in our corner. Welcome home, Nigel!
