Siriús

Today, we get to share the kind of update we dream about. The kind of update that makes every hard moment worth it. Against all odds, our beloved Siriús has healed, found happiness, and officially been adopted into a loving forever home! After everything this sweet boy endured, seeing him safe, healthy, and adored feels almost impossible to believe. But before we get swept up in the celebration, we want to take a moment to reflect on just how far Siriús has come.

When we first found Siriús, he was lying motionless on the side of the road, barely clinging to life. His body was covered in blood and infected bite wounds hidden beneath his thick fur. Maggots crawled in and out of a devastating wound inside his mouth, where infection had already begun destroying the tissue. It appeared he had been hit by a car and then attacked by other dogs while he was injured and helpless. By the time we reached him, Siriús was exhausted, dehydrated, infested with fleas and ticks, and his body was beginning to shut down.

We rushed Siriús to the emergency clinic, terrified we might lose him. The veterinary team immediately got to work providing pain relief, intensive wound care, medications, and treatment for the severe infection taking over his body. What likely started as a small untreated wound inside his mouth had become a horrifying maggot infestation that nearly cost him his life. Despite everything he had suffered, Siriús remained gentle with everyone caring for him. Watching him fight so hard to survive absolutely shattered us.

As the days passed, Siriús slowly began showing signs of improvement. The swelling started to go down, his wounds began healing, and little by little, his strength returned. After intensive treatment, careful monitoring, and endless love from his caregivers, the dog who once lay helpless on the roadside began transforming before our eyes. Soon, Siriús was full of energy, playful, and finally able to experience comfort and safety for what may have been the very first time in his life.

Once Siriús was fully healed, our focus shifted toward finding him the forever family he deserved all along. We knew this incredible survivor needed a home filled with patience, love, and kindness to make up for everything he had endured. And then, the perfect family came along. The moment they met Siriús, it was clear they were meant for each other. Now, this sweet boy is finally living the life every dog deserves, surrounded by love, safety, soft beds, and people who absolutely adore him.

To everyone who donated, shared his story, sent kind messages, and stood beside Siriús throughout this journey, THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts. Because of your compassion, this boy’s story did not end alone on the side of the road. Your support gave him a second chance at life, healing, and happiness.
