Stuffed Shells

The puppy who was rushed to the emergency hospital in the middle of the night with her organs exposed is now curled up in a home of her very own. Stuffed Shells came into our rescue from the shelter alongside her mom, Macaroni, and her three siblings, Cavatelli, Ravioli, and Vermicelli. At only two months old and the only girl in her litter, she caught someone's eye almost immediately. An adopter stepped forward to pre-adopt her, and all that stood between this baby and her forever home was the last of her vetting.

Then she went in for her routine spay. Shortly after her foster mom picked her up from the clinic, the incision site opened and Stuffed Shells' organs became visible. There was not a second to waste. Her foster rushed her to the emergency hospital during the late hours of the night, where the veterinary team took her in immediately and placed a wet bandage over her exposed organs to keep the tissue viable until surgery could begin.

It was a frightening, heart-pounding night, but her surgery went smoothly and she was discharged back to her foster home the very next morning. The first thing she did was take a long, well-deserved nap. That was the moment we knew this brave girl was going to be okay.

The crisis came at a cost we were not prepared for. Our emergency medical fund had been stretched thin by the sheer volume of animals needing us, and covering her emergency care meant asking for help so we could be ready for the next one. You answered. Because of your generosity, Stuffed Shells got the second chance every animal deserves, and she has officially been adopted.

From rescue to recovery to a loving forever home, none of this would have been possible without you. Every donation, every share, and every kind word helped carry this sweet girl from an emergency table to a family who will love her for the rest of her life. Thank you for believing in her. Enjoy your new life, sweet Shells.
