Queijadinha

At one point, Queijadinha was discarded near a river, completely unable to defend or care for herself. Desolate and had accepted that this was the life she’d be forced into. But now, she’s fully recovered and has a wonderful new home that’ll never let her deal with a horrible world like that again. All of it was thanks to your support here on CUDDLY that Queijadinha is now able to live a full life.

Queijadinha had been left near a river, out in the middle of nowhere, completely alone for more than 5 days. Extremely weak, unable to stand or walk, and refusing to eat, someone had tried to help by building her a small improvised shelter, but it was far from enough to save her on its own. And by the time she reached us, her condition was devastating. She was suffering from severe myiasis, dehydration, and starvation, her small body infested with fleas and ticks, her skin inflamed with dermatitis that left her constantly scratching to escape the discomfort. She also had tumors, a high fever, and was in an extremely fragile state after enduring prolonged suffering without any care. We urgently needed a chest X-ray to determine whether the tumors had spread. And yet, somehow, she was still fighting.

That evaluation revealed a large mammary tumor at an advanced stage, requiring urgent surgery. We knew we could not wait. Our team worked to treat her, stabilize her, and surround her with the care and love she had never been given before, ultimately moving forward with the surgery to remove her tumor.

And then, the turning point we had been hoping for arrived. Queijadinha began to heal. She grew stronger. Happier. More herself with each passing day. The dog who had once been left for dead by a river was finally ready to begin a brand new chapter.
That new chapter? Queijadinha has been adopted. After everything she endured, surviving alone, starvation, illness, and surgery, this sweet girl now has a family to call her own, complete with a warm bed, loving hands, and the safe, comfortable life she always deserved.
